Compare the generation and package
Ask the dealer to put model 040807—or the actual alternative ordering code—on the proposal. Do not assume a cheaper listing with a similar 26 kW name includes the same monitoring, transfer equipment or warranty. The Briggs & Stratton brand guide keeps the wider product-family distinctions together.

Compare natural-gas output before choosing

Plan the ownership requirements
Have the installer identify the applicable operator’s manual and service schedule using the model number. Ask how monitoring is configured, who responds to an alert and whether any service subscription is part of the quote. Included monitoring hardware does not establish that a contractor is actively monitoring it for you.

Does remote monitoring include a service response?
Remote monitoring can report equipment status, but a service response depends on the provider and agreement. Ask who receives the alert, who reviews it and what response is included. Keep that agreement with the installation quote record rather than assuming connectivity includes emergency service.
