    What the directory labels mean

    Sales designation
    The company appeared with a Sales designation in the manufacturer source. This is not, by itself, evidence of installation capability.
    Certified Service designation
    The company appeared with a Certified Service designation in the manufacturer source.
    Other source designations
    Some profiles include dealer tiers, aligned-contractor or service/warranty-related labels where those were present. These are Generac programme labels, not Backup Generator Guide ratings.

    A source designation does not establish the company’s current licensing, insurance, installation capability, availability or service area. A Generac listing is not a recommendation from Backup Generator Guide.

    Counts describe this collected directory only, with overlapping designations. Searches were performed across selected cities within 171 supplied metropolitan areas and should not be interpreted as a complete census of all Generac dealers or service providers.

    How this directory was built

    Manufacturer records were observed on 18–21 September 2026 (UTC). The expanded collection searched 292 named cities across 171 supplied metro labels in Generac’s Home Standby Generator category, using the USA selection and a nominal 50-mile radius, with no sales, service or tier filters.

    Seven primary city searches returned exactly 100 records: Seattle, Detroit, Houston, Lancaster, New York, Philadelphia and Flint. We treated these as potentially capped and supplemented each with 25-mile and 10-mile searches. The extra searches recovered additional records, but do not establish exhaustive coverage. Locator results can extend beyond the selected nominal radius and cross city or state boundaries.

    The collection contained 8,587 distinct Generac listing IDs. Of these, 677 IDs were already represented by 656 existing consolidated profiles; 7,910 new ID-based profiles were added, yielding 8,566 directory profiles. Separate branch IDs were preserved unless already consolidated in the original cohort. These are profiles, not a verified count of unique legal companies.

    We retain source names, listed localities, ZIP codes, available business contact details, Generac designations, source IDs and observation dates. Precise street addresses and source emails are not exposed for the new import; conflicting contact fields are withheld for review. One source record did not supply a company name and is labelled accordingly.

    Known state/ZIP discrepancies include source records for Mobile, Mount Olive and Tontitown labelled AK with ZIP references pointing to other states. These are flagged rather than silently reassigned. This targeted check is not a complete geographic audit. Unflagged locations are not independently verified.

    Absence from these results does not mean no Generac provider exists in an area. A listed location does not establish a service area. Neither this collection nor a manufacturer badge independently verifies current credentials, availability or workmanship. Check the current manufacturer listing and confirm details with the business before hiring.
